the idea here was creation of "melody" through texture. density of rhythm, synthesized sound and sampled voices that didnt matter what they were saying. i specifically avoided writing "songs", and concentrated on production and instinct. spent a couple of months tracking this in summer, 2012. there were 15 "songs" recorded, with more going on in each than i usually go after. then the computer i was using died in the midst of recording, so the project passed with it. forward to summer, 2013, i retrieved all dead materials in the dead computer and brought them back to life. i then spent 6 months editing and mixing a monstrous project that had really gotten out of hand, it turns out. so, i pared it down to these songs and tried to add some focus and cohesion to a very random, and sometimes long-winded project. the rest may or may not see the light of day.
